Roluos Group是吴哥古迹里以小吴哥为中心距离最远的一处。庙宇遗址主要包括有Preah
Ko, Loei 和Bakong， 及零碎得无法辨认的小片区如Prasat Kandal Dpeum, Prasat O keak, Prasat Olok 和Prasat Prei Monti. Roluos Group在书中这样被这样记述的：
“The monuments of Roluos, which served as Indravarman I’s capital, Haliharalaya, are among the earliest large, permanent temples build by the Khmers and mark the beginning of the age of Khmer classical art. Before the construction of Roluos, generally only lighter (and less-durable) construction materials such as brick were employed. ”
Bakong是遗址中最大的部分，是标准的方形对称式建筑，由底部起大致分3大层级，中间的一层有5小层级，以石塔分隔递进。拾级而上，在Bakong最高出环顾四周，这里有着与小吴哥惊人的相似之处。东南西北四个方向分别有幽深通径直达主庙，而这些道路也都隐藏在丛林深处。Bakong是这样被推荐给游客的：
“Bakong is the largest and most interesting of the Roluos Group temples, and has an active Buddhist monastery just to th enorht of the east entrance. It
was build and dedicated to Shiva by Indravarman I.Built as a representation of Mt Meru, it served as the city’s central pyramid of sandstone, 60m square at
the base, flanked by eight towers (or what’s left of them) of brick and sandstone and by other minor sanctuaries. Several of the eight towers down below are still partly covered by their original plasterwork. The complex is enclosed by three concentric walls and a broad moat. There are well-preserved statues of stone elephants on each corner of the first three levels of the central temple. ”
在东面主入口的右侧，有一寺庙。9点左右僧人们都起来了，有照镜子的，刮胡子的，刷牙的，穿衣的，也有走到庙外与小学间的空地上散步的一两个。寺庙外围一米高的树丛分隔，里面开有鸡蛋花。一个年轻的僧人批好衣服后邀请我进庙参观。庙分3个部分，主殿暂不容许进，我们在殿外的门廊和僧舍外走动。门廊拐弯一直延伸至主殿，顶部檐部均是以释迦牟尼为主的佛教故事。他们努力齐心用英文跟我解释。偶尔我说出一个内容，他们诧异得象找到同门弟子。门廊上看得出近期新上彩的部分，也有被烈日长期照射剥落的碎片。这里的僧人很随和，说来Roluos Group的人不多，但这里却是非常值得来参观的地方。我表示十分同意。
寺庙与小学直线距离不到50米。学校里只看到两个侧面完全开放的教室。孩子们在课堂上闹哄哄，两位老师巡堂走动。铃声过后，孩子们几乎倾巢而出，在门前唯一一家小贩处买课间餐。有蔬菜三文治，甜圈，还有很收欢迎的装满黄酱的面包。
这里看到的景象有些奇怪，不过应该也已存在许久。这里有他们精神的图腾，相互间相处得和谐，满足，其实还有其他什么更为重要？
